As always one of my goals for the new year is to be more present in every moment. I’ve heard a quote before that goes, “How many of us are are truly living? Everyone exists but not everyone is living.” This was ones of those quotes that I really felt deep inside of me. I often find myself worrying about things that I cannot control or things that are now in the past.
Worrying is inevitable and you will experience seasons of uncertainty that cause you to worry. This however doesn’t mean that you have to be a “slave” to your worry. God gives us the power to let go of worry because we can trust Him! Although it’s easier said than done, we don’t need to worry about things we can’t control or things that are in the past!
It can be difficult but put your trust in God! He will provide for you and He is listening to your prayers (even when it doesn’t feel like it). The Bible says “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” - 1 Peter 5:7 You can easily do this by praying or writing to God. As simple as the action is, it can make a big impact!
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?” - Matthew 6:25 The Lord has promised that He will take care of us and He does not break His promises. Have faith and try not to worry!
“Worrying does not empty tomorrow of sorrow; but it empties today of strength.”
